Student Housing and Commons
This project—featuring a three story 58,000 square foot residential facility and a 7,000 square foot commons area designed by two different architectural firms—was originally awarded to GDI in the fall for a completion date in August the following year. Due to delays in the municipal entitlements, the construction schedule was shortened to six months.
Through aggressive scheduling, attention to detail, and rigorous project management, the project was completed on time and students moved in to the residence hall at the start of the fall semester.
Fair Commons was GDI’s first project for Anderson University. Its successful completion has led to four additional construction opportunities with the University.
You did a really nice job on this project. You delivered a high quality project in a difficult/nearly impossible time frame to AU.
I know they appreciated it.
Thanks for making us all look good.

Anderson University has worked with GDI Construction on several university construction projects over the past three years including housing for undergraduate and graduate students, and a dynamic and complex education center at the Flagship located at exit 22 on the I69 corridor. We have found their staff to be professional, competent and responsive. Management routinely demonstrates their genuine desire to construct a building that meets and exceeds the needs of their clients.
